FAQs
How does the VetCount Test work?
The technology behind the VetCount Test is based on the same principle as the well-known Swim-Up Technology which, for many years, has been used in Assisted Reproduction Technology (ART) to harvest the best sperm cells for Intra Uterine Insemination (IUI).
How do I use the VetCount Test?
1. STEP
First 10 um of a semen sample is added to the VetChip.
Then 30 um of PBS is added to the Vetchip.
Insert the VetChip into the VetCount Device.
2. STEP
First you select an Animal in the VetCount App.
Then you add all relevant information on your chosen animal.
3. STEP
Scan the sample.
4. STEP
Get the result and see your animal’s sperm quality. You can also see
the history and analyze the animal’s performance over time.
How do I read the result?
You read the result from the screen on the VetCount device.
How accurate is VetCount?
VetCount is 95% accurate compared to microscopy.
Why is VetCount needed on the market?
Almost 100% of all reproduction in livestock production is performed by insemination or other Assisted Reproduction Technology (ART) procedures. VetCount measures the number of progressive motile sperm cells, which is the single best predictor for sperm quality. VetCount is a mobile and battery operated device that can be used on-site and by doing so reduce the reproductive loss which is caused by low sperm quality during insemination.
